Clemens Teufel
|
Described by the press as a "incredibly sensitive playing" and “red-hot German pianist”, Clemens Teufel
has performed concerts throughout Europe, the United States and Asia
including venues such as the Old Opera House Frankfurt, Germany,
Rockport Music’s Shalin Liu Performance Center, USA, Cité des Arts in
Paris, France and the Beijing Conservatory in China as well as at
several festivals including the International Burgos Music Festival in
Spain, the Holzhauser Musiktage and the Easter Festival in Bayreuth,
Germany as well as the Newport Music Festival and the Summit Music
Festvial in New York, USA.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Clemens
Teufel received his first piano lessons at the age of seven.
First-prize winner of various national youth competitions, he completed
his musical education at the University Franz Liszt in Weimar, where he
studied in the class of Professor Peter Waas. Inspired by Franz Liszt,
Mr. Teufel was one of the selected pianists to play numerous concerts
on the composer‘s own Bechstein at the Franz Liszt Museum.
In
2012, Clemens Teufel graduated with honors in the master class of
Professor Lev Natochenny from the Frankfurt University of Music and
Performing Arts. He participated in master classes with distinguished
American and European artists such as Gary Graffman, Paul Badura-Scoda,
Lazar Berman and Brigitta Fassbaender.
Clemens Teufel held
teaching positions at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing
Arts as well as at the School of Music Bad Soden and has given
masterclasses around the globe including the Beijing Conservatory in
China and the Johann Sebastian Bach School of Music in Mühlhausen,
Germany.
In addition to recording for German and Japanese
Television, Mr. Teufel has appeared with several German orchestras
under the baton of Sebastian Weigle, Hannes Pohlit, Hannes Krämer and
others.
In 2017, Clemens Teufel released his first solo Album
with music by American master composers Howard Hanson and George
Gershwin, which he has recorded recently with Futura Studios in Boston
and is available at Apple Music, Itunes, Spotify and other major
streaming services.
